CLEVELAND, OH – On Friday June 8, 2012, nationally recognized business executive and technology leader, Dr. Julian M. Earls will receive the Business Trailblazer Tribute presented by the Christian Business League at the “Faith and Finance” Breakfast at 7:30a.m. at the Greenmont Party Center. The Business Trailblazer Tribute recognizes individuals, who are senior in their career, for their outstanding and unique business contributions. COSE is the signature sponsor for the event.
Dr. Earls currently is Executive in Residence at the Monte Ahuja College of Business atClevelandStateUniversityinCleveland,Ohio, a position he has held since 2006. He retired from the position of Director, NASA Glenn Research Center inCleveland,Ohio. As Center Director, he managed a budget of $773 million and a workforce of over 3300 employees.
During his tenure at NASA he spearheaded the awarding of over $600 million in contacts to Small Disadvantaged Black owned Businesses and grants to Historically Black Colleges and Universities.Dr. Earls serves on numerous boards both in the greaterClevelandcommunity and nationally. He was awarded the Meritorious Executive Rank Award in the Federal Executive Service by
President William J. Clinton in 1999 and again by President George W. Bush in 2004. In addition, he has been awarded three NASA Medals for Outstanding Leadership, Exceptional Achievement and Distinguished Service respectively. While atClevelandStateUniversityhe has been awarded the President’s Medal, the highest award presented by the President of CSU.
Notable Tributes to Dr. Earls will be made by Dr. Robert Scherer, Dean Monte Ahuja College of Business,ClevelandStateUniversityand Dr. Woodrow Whitlow, Jr., Associate Administrator for Mission Support, NASA Headquarter inWashington,DC. Previous recipients of the Trailblazer Tribute are Architect Robert P. Madison and Business Consultant Josie Bell Lindsay. Over 125 business people and entrepreneurs are expected to attend.
