CLEVELAND, Sept. 20, 2012 – Fairfax residents and business owners are invited to an open house on Saturday, Sept. 29, at the PNC Fairfax Connection, a new community center located at 8220 Carnegie Ave. (corner of 83rd Street and Carnegie Ave.). Refreshments and tours will be available from 10 a.m. to noon.
Open house activities include tours of the center showcasing its innovative design, demonstrations of its technology and briefings about upcoming programs.
Upcoming workshops and classes will focus on money management, business development and computer/internet uses.
During the open house, younger visitors will have the opportunity to make craft projects and meet special guest Cookie Monster from Sesame Street™, as parents and caregivers will be offered more information about the early childhood education program, PNC Grow Up Great. Upcoming youth programs will include a focus on various skills, such as cooking and photo editing.
The center will also serve as a place to celebrate and take pride in the history, traditions and culture of Fairfax, with workshops and other events sponsored by local cultural institutions.
