LAS VEGAS (July 16) – This weekend, the Las Vegas Film Festival is set to honor local filmmaker Crazy Dee’s latest project “Females.” “Females” is part of The BlkIce Chronicles film trilogy, written, produced, directed and edited by Crazy Dee. The Award Ceremony/After Party happens on Sunday July 22nd, 2012 at 11:00pm in the Tempo Lounge of the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino Resort, 3000 Paradise Road, Las Vegas, NV 89109.

“Females” is the first film created from the mind of Crazy Dee and is based on true events. In the film, Crazy Dee plays himself – a local proprietor of a CD shop. “Females” tells the story of Crazy Dee, his CD Shop and the various casts of female characters whom have patronized his business for more than 15 years. Crazy Dee opens his CD Shop daily for business, and never really knows what the day will bring; especially with the block’s resident crackhead, Susie (Shalira Taylor), prowling the grounds, waiting for Conwell Jacobs (Anthony Conway) to enter Crazy Dee’s CD Shop. As the only photographer/filmmaker on the block, Crazy Dee is approached by many females to model, or act. This is how he meets Courtney Douglass (Priscilla Moorer), a pushy young lady who doesn’t take no for an answer. He also encounters Constance Phillips (K. Starr) who will do anything to model for Crazy Dee. Both keep the high jinx going. But, Crazy Dee finds himself cornered in one of the strangest predicaments when he is invited over to Val Champaign’s (Ikeya Wood) house to photograph her for a CD cover. He meets her mother Vernice (Crystal) and their family friend Prodigy T (Tonya Congress) and is introduced to a crazy situation. Based on true happenings, “Females” is an amusing film.

“Females” is part of a trilogy of films based on “The BlkIce Chronicles.” “The BlkIce Chronicles” is the web series Crazy Dee writes, produces, directs and edits – think: “Barbershop” Meets Crazy Dee’s CD Shop. Synopsis: A man opens a CD Shop, 15 years pass, and he reminisces about the crazy situations and the various cast of characters who have patronized his business over the years. One word – hilarious! Interest grew in the story and from that, DVDs were created. Titles include: “Females,” “The Shifter” and “Situations” (slated for release later this summer).
