The London’s Bridge Foundation hosted its 12th annual Christmas Bicycle Giveaway last week.
The Foundation was founded by native Clevelander London Fletcher, a member of the Washington Redskins NFL football team, and Tim Isaac, a local philanthropist. Fletcher is a graduate of Villa Angela St. Joseph High School and John Carroll University.
The London’s Bridge Foundation was organized in the year 2000. The organization is very fortunate and proud to give back to the Greater Cleveland youth who are less privileged and may not otherwise receive a Christmas gift. Each youth participant received a 26” bike, a helmet, a winter coat and phenomenal door prizes that included X Boxes, televisions, board games, educational games and other engaging gifts. The participants also received a hearty meal.
Over the years, the foundation has given away more than 1,500 bicycles in an effort to promote fitness and fun.
This year, an additional 100 bicycles were given away.
“Due to the struggling economy and poverty stricken families, we believe that it is our responsibility to uplift communities and continue to be a blessing in the lives of others,” said Isaac.
