Mother of Emilliano Tery will be headed back to court
By JAMES W. WADE III
The mother of slain 3-year-old Emilliano Terry pleaded not guilty last week to 10 counts related to her son’s death. Camilia Terry’s attorney entered the plea on her behalf. Bond was set at $2 million.
Prosecutors say Terry led police on a massive search for little Emilliano on Nov. 25, knowing she had placed his body in the garbage days earlier.
Terry was arrested the following day after the toddler’s body was found at a waste treatment facility in Oakwood Village. On Friday, Terry’s Father, Cornelius Baker, spoke for the family.
Last week the victim’s two brothers were placed in the custody of paternal relatives. A Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services spokesperson said the relatives have been through a background screening. The boys, ages 5 months and 5 years, are doing well, the spokesperson said following Friday’s closed-door hearing. There will be another hearing Jan. 7. All three of the boys have different fathers.
Another trial date for Terry has been scheduled for Dec. 14.
