CLEVELAND, Ohio—
Convicted serial killer Anthony Sowell has been transferred out of the Cuyahoga County jail and will now be housed at the Ohio State Penitentiary in Youngstown, according to officials with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.

Carlo Laparo, spokesperson for the ODRC, said that Sowell was booked into the Ohio State Penitentiary on Wednesday. Sowell had to take a new mugshot and was processed at the facility, according to Laparo.

Laparo says the facility will house the serial killer until the time of his execution.

Sowell has been sentenced to die for killing 11 women in and around his Imperial Avenue home over a two-year span. He was found guilty of 82 of the 83 counts against him at trial.

Sowell's execution date is set for October 29, 2012 pending appeals.
