Police have found missing 4-year-old Raevon Ruffin and a suspect in East Cleveland Tuesday morning.
East Cleveland police said the two were found safe in the area of East 133rd Street and Eddy Road. They were taken to the East Cleveland police station to confirm the positive identification.
Cleveland police and the FBI issued an Amber Alert Monday night for the missing 4-year-old boy on the city’s west side.
The search for the boy and the man they believed he was with continued Tuesday morning.
Police said the missing boy was Raevon Ruffin. He's described as a black male, 3 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a grey coat, blue and grey pants and red and black tennis shoes.
Police learned of Raevon Ruffin's missing status when his mother noticed that he was not with the group of children that he was outside playing with. A search of the neighborhood was conducted and failed to turn up any signs of Ruffin. He was last seen Monday night just before 7:30 p.m. by his mother while he was playing with neighbors and siblings outside.
Police said they thought Ruffin may be with Isaiah Taylor, 19, a black male with a light complexion.
Police said Taylor has lived with Ruffin and his family periodically for the past six months in the 1300 block of 95th Street and was found to be missing at the same time as the young boy.
Cleveland Police Deputy Chief Ed Tomba says Taylor was arrested for a "situation" with a minor several years ago. He wouldn't elaborate.
Police and FBI searched the community overnight and continued their search throughout Northeast Ohio Tuesday morning.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Raevon Ruffin is asked to call the Cleveland Division Police First District Detective Bureau by phoning 216.623.5118 or 216.623.5100.
