Temple Baptist Church celebrates 60th Anniversary

tbc60The scheduled rehearsals for the reunion choir will be Wednesday, Oct. 17, and Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 1862 Noble Road.


TheTempleBaptistChurchwill be celebrating their 60th Anniversary on Sunday, October 28, 2012.Templewill have one of their sons Bishop David Thomas and his church New St. Paul Baptist Church of Cincinnati, Ohio as the guest speaker in the morning and a special reunion choir at 4 p.m.

The reunion choir will be under the direction of Professor James W. Wade II. Wade, who served as minister of Music for over 40 years, is an icon in the gospel music ministry.

“I am humbled to be asked back toTemplefor this great occasion,” said Wade.

TempleBaptistChurchnow being led by Rev. Sedric Veal who was instrumental in moving the church to its present location. Over the years,Templehas been the place where everyone gathered at the end of each Sunday to hear some great singing and preaching.

Veal, a dynamic preacher, has continued to push the church forward as the Lord gives him the vision. Even with the church in a new location, the motto still rings loud and clear: “The Lord is on my Side, I will not fear, what can man do unto me,” which was also the theme song sung by the Radio Combined Choir aka the Hour of Consolation choir over the years.

The scheduled rehearsals for the reunion choir will be Wednesday, Oct. 17, and Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 1862 Noble Road.
