Lady Surge finish season at 29-1 with win over Cuyahoga Community College

d_web_300Cincinnati State is currently ranked No. 2 in the National Junior College Athletic Association's national poll.


The Cincinnati State Lady Surge defeated Cuyahoga Community College 79-44 to finish the 2012 regular season at 29-1, with a 12-0 record in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.


Sophomores Dominique Fischer, Brittiney Latimer and Taylor Frazier – playing in the final home game of their junior college careers – scored in double figures against Cuyahoga. Fischer led all scorers with 18 points. Frazier finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Latimer chipped in 12 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Sophomore point guard DeDe Henry contributed 7 assists, 13 rebounds and 5 steals – all highs for the game.


Cincinnati State is currently ranked No. 2 in the National Junior College Athletic Association's national poll.  The team will have nearly a week off before beginning tournament play on Friday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. Because Cincinnati State earned a first round bye in the NJCAA Region XII tournament, its opponent will be the winner of the No. 4 seed vs. No. 5 seed. This year's NJCAA Regional XII tournament is being held at Owens Community College in Toledo, Ohio.
