#3 Cleveland Heights 41, Bedford 21

Cleveland Heights Tigers are still marching on.

The Tigers speed, strength and size was too much for hosting Bedford Bearcats in their Lake Erie League opener 41-21 victory at Bearcat Stadium in Bedford.

Marcus Bagley brought it. Bagley scored three touchdowns and he ran for 126 yards on 15 carries. The Bearcats (2-2) scored first on senior quarterback Deon Carter’s 12-yard touchdown. That lead will hold up until the second quarter. Bagley had score twice in that quarter. He had a 12 and 18-yard runs. Senior wide receiver Shelton Gibson had a 24-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Euclid 48, Shaw 40

Both defenses took a break last Friday night at Shaw as Euclid outscored Shaw 48-40 in the Lake Erie League opener. In the opening quarter, it looked like Shaw (2-2) was going to run away with it. They scored the first 12 points. But, here come the Panthers (2-2), they would score 20 points in a row. The game was tied at 20 at the half. Euclid scored 14 points in a row and back comes the Cardinals. The Cardinals would score 14 in a row and they are deadlocked at 34 after three. Euclid would break the tie on a one-yard touchdown run by Rhyshon Johnson. Juwan Ford’s two-point conversion put the Panthers up 42-34. The Cardinals would answer with a touchdown run of their own. However, their game-tying two-point conversion failed. The Panthers lead 42-40. The Panthers would ice the game with Ward’s 18-yard touchdown run. The Panthers will host Bedford, Friday. The Cardinals, who lost their home opener, will be at Lorain, Friday.
