Indians keep Manny Acta as Manager

CLEVELAND, OH –  The Cleveland Indians and Executive Vice President & General Manager CHRIS ANTONETTI today announced the club has exercised the 2013 club option on Manager MANNY ACTA.

Acta, 42, led the Indians to a second place finish in the American League Central in 2011 with a record of 80-82 (.494), an 11-game improvement in terms of wins over the previous season.  The Indians finished the season with a home record of 44-37 (.543), 36 come-from-behind wins and were less than 6.0 games out of first place into September.  The season concluded with the third- youngest roster in Major League Baseball, featuring 11 players who made their Major League debuts in 2011.

Manny is now signed thru the 2013 season and owns a two-year record of 149-175 as the Cleveland Indians Manager since taking over in 2010.
