Health information exchange connection offered through NEON

Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services, Inc. announces live connection to state health information exchange

CLEVELAND — Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services, Inc. (NEON) announced their live connection with CliniSync, Ohio’s Statewide Health Information Exchange, enabling medical professionals in different regions to share labs results, patient histories, medication lists and other information about a patient’s care. NEON is the first FQHC in the area to accomplish this connection.

“We will be able to exchange real time PHI (Patient Health Information) with over 50 hospitals in the area,” said Willie Austin, CEO at Northeast Ohio Neighborhood Health Services, Inc. (NEON).

Founded in 1967, NEON is a network of community health centers throughout the Greater Cleveland and surrounding areas, and the first Federally Qualified Health Care Center in the State of Ohio. NEON offers a wide range of health services (Adult and Pediatric Care, Dental, Mobile Dental, Behavioral Health, OB/GYN, Optometry and Podiatry) designed to provide quality, affordable care for people of all ages, and income regardless of insurance status. Patients have access to a primary care physician who can coordinate all their health care needs. The Provider Staff currently includes 35 physicians, 10 dentists and a staff of Certified Nurse-Midwives and other support personnel. In addition to clinical services, patients have access to social work, health education, family planning and nutritional counseling, all of which provide a multi-disciplinary approach to improved health outcomes. Since its inception, NEON has maintained a history of collaboration with its community partners to assure the provision of quality health care services to residents of Northeast Ohio.
