CLEVELAND – The Call & Post is pleased to announce the Inaugural World AIDS Day Fair & Brunch, in collaboration ...

On November 30, 2013 from 11am – 5pm, residents are invited to the New Cleveland Convention Center, 300 Lakeside Avenue, to participate in this very important event.

“If we are to preserve our legacy, we must address the HIV/AIDS situation in our community” says Connie Harper, Associate Publisher/Editor. “As a leading source of information, the Call & Post has chosen to taken the lead on this collaborative movement against HIV/AIDS in Northeast Ohio.”

World AIDS Day Fair and Brunch will be the first event of it’s kind in the area. We will provide FREE CONFIDENTIAL TESTING, compliments of the Free Medical Clinic; Information, resources and samples, compliments of the Cleveland Department of Public Health and the Cuyahoga County Regional Advisory Group (RAG). We urge attendees to participate in our “Candid Conversations” being led by local professionals and radio personalities. Clinical Trials and Treatment Options; Teen Summit; Senior Summit and For Men Only are among the areas to addressed.

“This is not an event, it is a movement” says Cheri Daniels, VP of Operations and Event Chair. “According to the Cleveland Department of Public Health, as of March 31, 2013, there were more than 3,000 people aged 35-54 that were diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in Cleveland. Our goal is to offer testing, information and resources in a very relaxed atmosphere to hopefully prevent SOMEBODY aged 15-34 from becoming a 35 year old statistic.”

Area residents living with HIV/AIDS have graciously joined us to share their stories from the main stage that will compliment a full day of performances from local poets, singers and dancers from all genres, some of which will spread messages of sexual responsibility, hope and survival. Joining them on the main stage are special appearances from KMichelle of Love & Hip Hop, who will also be available for a private Meet & Greet with contest winners, Benita Ewing and Eddie B. Sands, cast members of the new movie Black Nativity and gospel favorite Humbly Submitted. WENZ’s Tropikana will broadcast LIVE while Enrique Correa of FOX 8 and other local TV and Radio Personalities stop by to encourage our guest to GET TESTED!

The holiday spirit is in the air and shoppers will be treated to some very unique gift ideas offered by local merchants.

ALL are invited to attend this wonderful FREE event! Parking is available for $5 at Huntington Garage on Lakeside Avenue. For more info visit www.callandpost.com or call 216.588.6700.
