Community Block Party
Fatima Family Center is hosting a community block party on Thursday, September 12th from 4pm- 8pm at 6600 Lexington Avenue. Fatima is celebrating 40 years of faith, family, friends and community service. Free tickets are available at the Center.
Celebrating Recovery – 5k Run and Walk
The Cleveland Municipal Court and the Cleveland Department of Health are sponsoring a 5k run and walk on Saturday, September 14th. Free registration starts at 7:00 am at West 3rd and Lakeside at Fort Huntington Park, across from the Justice Center. For further information, visit cmcoh.org.
The Alabama Civil Rights Trail – 50 years later
Another Historical Journey will sponsor a dual city historic journey from the Freedom Riders to the Montgomery Bus Boycott to the 16th Baptist Church. The tour will take place from September 12 – 16, 2013. It will also include a tour of the Rosa Parks Museum, the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church and the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. John Hay Alumni Association Annual Ball

Man to Man Forum
Councilman Kevin Conwell is hosting a man to man forum, “Why do some fatherless boys grow up to be dangerous men?” The panelists are State Rep. Bill Patmon, Judge Michael Ryan (Juvenile Court), Al Grimes (Director, Fatherhood Initiative), William Foster (King’s Son 820) and Dr. Phil Moore (Passages, Fatherhood Program). 4th Annual Black Storytelling Week
The Cleveland Association of Black Storytellers will host a week long event from September 21 – 27.
