When I first really paid attention to Fellows, he was singing along side one of Cleveland’s best gospel groups The Evangelistic Team, with Leonard Burks, Bishop Redman, Michael Dotson and that great Lenny Champion. This group was by far one of Cleveland’s best.
Fellows has been featured in The Gospel According to Broadway Production” solo performer with the Michael Terry Singers and The BBC Orchestra at the Hackney Theater in London England, Featured Soloist with the “Harlem Gospel Singers” 16-week European Tour, for four consecutive years.
Many have come in contact with him because of him conducting workshops throughout the country and in Europe educating singers and musicians in Praise and Worship.
Fellows was special guest clinician for the “Annual Krefeld Gospel Music Festival” in Krefeld, Germany. He has toured with “The Glories of Gospel Production” which depicts the history of Gospel Music from the early 1930’s to present. The cast performs on college campuses throughout the state of Ohio, regionally, and abroad in Sweden, Lithuania and Norway.
Another great highlight was when Fellows was the featured soloist with 2000 voice Mass Choir of Gospel Music Workshop of American (GMWA) on the King James Label. He has released a solo album project entitled “Canaan Land,”, Independently Distributed, and Total Praise Music.
While having the chance to play at a few churches, he still found time to things on a national level. He was guest solo performance with the Ohio Baptist General Convention (OBGC) Mass Choir project Entitled “It’s God” in Dayton, Ohio, singing “Surrender” on the Aleho Label/Start Song Communications.
Also he was a featured soloist with the 300 voice men’s chorus of the GMWA in Atlanta, Georgia, singing “Use Me Lord,” on the Peperco Label and guest solo performance on the Atlanta Youth Chorale project, in Atlanta, Georgia, AYC, Inc.
During Black Music Month in 2014, The Call & Post is happy to salute Carlton Fellows and all he has accomplished. Through the eyes of Fellows, the musical groups and musicians, soloists all have so much talent in Cleveland.
“I love what I do and I feel so blessed to be celebrating my 60th birthday with all my friends and family,” said Fellows.
