Man arrested at Cleveland Hopkins Airport

Cleveland Police came to Hopkins Airport from call from TSA officers who detected a firearm

On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, officers assigned to the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport had occasion to arrest a male for CCW. The male was going through the screening process at Checkpoint B at approximately 4:50pm when his small carry-on bag was x-rayed by TSA officers. The TSA officers observed a firearm in the bag.

The male was placed under arrest without incident and reported that he had forgotten that the gun was in his bag. Male booked and housed at CPU.

Arrested: Steven G. Janik, white male age 62 of Brecksville

Weapon: Browning C283 .380
