Cavs go down fighting
LeBron James 41 points wasn’t enough to offset another brilliant performance from Kevin Durant who earned Finals MVP with his fifth 30 point game and the Golden State Warriors captured their second NBA championship in three years with a 129-120 victory over Cleveland in Oakland, winning the series 4-1.
Steph Curry added 34 to over shadow a 26 points from Kyrie Irving and a dynamic 25 point outburst from JR Smith.
All the focus will now be squarely pointed at Kevin Love who disappeared again when the Cavs needed him most. Love finished with an abysmal 6 points in 30 minutes.
Now, as the Cavs go into the off season with James entering into the final year of his contract, the speculation will mount on whether he will remain with the franchise beyond 2018 or force the ownership hands to add another superstar to contend next year.
