Cleveland Cop caught soliciting prostitute

The Cleveland police sergeant who testified in the 2013 drunk driving case of former Councilman Zack Reed has been charged with soliciting prostitution.

Robert Strollo, who testified in the Reed case, plead not guilty on Tuesday of first-degree misdemeanor soliciting and was released on $1000 bond in Cleveland Municipal Court, pending a pretrial date on March 22.

The troubled Cleveland cop allegedly solicited a prostitute on Chambers Ave. in Slavic Village at approximately 1p.m., according to court documentation.

He has been suspended for 15 days without pay from the department and demoted to patrol officer until his case is reviewed Aug. 28.

In 2014 after Strollo and two other supervisors failed to oversee six police officers who accepted free goods at a gas station and lied on their duty reports.

For that incident he lost five days without pay. The officers under his command got free lottery tickets and cigarettes from the Marathon Gas station on East 40th Street and St. Clair Avenue, gambled on duty at the gas station and tested Tasers inside the building, according to reports.

Strollo had recently been reinstated as a sergeant after being demoted in a case for allowing a bouncer at the Crazy Horse strip club in Cleveland to attack a customer who was being unruly, according to court records.
