Solon graduate headed to Africa


Solon High School honors graduate Kamea Cyril Duncan will be studying abroad in Gambia West Africa.

The Miami University (Ohio) dean’s list student, will visit with various health professionals including: a Medical Research clinic, St. John’s school for the deaf, a hospital for women, infants and children, a national nutrition agency, eye and dental clinics, and a boat ride on Gambia River to Juffre, home of Kunra Kinte.

Also a proud member of Imani Temple Ministries, Duncan received a special prayer from her pastor, The. Rev. Dr. Rodney S. Thomas, before departing on her studies abroad.

Duncan is the daughter of Mildred Porter-Duncan, niece of Fontella Smith and cousin of Melonn Blue and Brendan Nichols.
