CLEVELAND — Governor Mike DeWine and Mayor Justin Bibb stood together on Public Square to announce a powerful new partnership focused on reducing crime and restoring peace in Cleveland’s neighborhoods.
“Every Ohioan deserves to feel safe,” DeWine said. “When Cleveland is strong, Ohio is strong — and we’re putting the full strength of the state behind this effort.”
The Ohio–Cleveland Community Safety Partnership will boost police resources on the streets, increase state trooper presence in high-crime areas, invest in new crime-fighting technology, and expand youth jobs and community outreach to stop violence before it starts.
Mayor Bibb called the initiative a major step forward: “This fight is bigger than politics. We are united to protect our families and bring hope and safety to every neighborhood.”
Community leaders say the partnership reflects what residents have been demanding — action, unity, and accountability.
