Min. Dale Edwards Executive Director Call and Post
The quiet of Sunday worship was shattered as thieves carried out a two-stop crime spree at Cleveland churches on both sides of the city.
At St. Stephen’s Church on the West Side, more than 20 cars were hit. Less than two hours later, Open Door Missionary Baptist Church on the East Side was also targeted, with nine more vehicles broken into.
Police believe the same group is responsible and are actively investigating with STANCE detectives.
The shock sparked a unified response: pastors from both affected congregations — joined by clergy from neighboring churches — announced they are forming a new cross-city church security network.
“This was an attack on our community,” one pastor said. “We will be vigilant. We will be prepared. And we will not let this continue.”
Investigators are asking anyone with tips or video to contact Cleveland Police.
