Ex-Husband Charged in Slayings of Ohio Woman and Her Husband

C&P Newswire

COLUMBUS, Ohio — An Ohio woman’s ex-husband has been charged in the fatal shootings of her and her husband, a Columbus dentist, according to court filings and county records.

Authorities identified the suspect as Michael McKee, 39, who was booked Saturday and is currently being held in Illinois, according to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office. McKee is accused of shooting and killing Dr. Spencer Tepe, 37, and Monique Tepe, 39, inside their Columbus home.

Investigators say the couple was found dead at the residence, prompting a multi-agency investigation that ultimately led to McKee’s arrest out of state. Details surrounding the circumstances of the shootings and a possible motive have not yet been publicly released.

Court records indicate McKee is expected to face extradition to Ohio, where he will be formally arraigned on murder charges. Prosecutors have not yet announced whether additional charges will be filed.

Dr. Tepe was a practicing dentist in central Ohio, and the deaths have sent shockwaves through the local medical and business communities. Friends and neighbors described the couple as well-known and deeply connected in the area, expressing disbelief and sorrow over the violent loss.

Law enforcement officials said the investigation remains active and urged anyone with information related to the case to contact authorities. As the legal process moves forward, prosecutors say they will seek justice for the victims and their families.

More details are expected to be released following McKee’s extradition and initial court appearance in Ohio.
