A major shift is coming to grocery checkout lines across America — and Ohio families using food assistance will soon feel the change.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved restrictions in 23 states limiting what can be purchased through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as food stamps. The federal agency says the goal is to improve nutrition and strengthen health outcomes for families receiving benefits.
